NEW YORK. Sept 30 (Interfax) - Moscow hopes that the Syrian opposition will show constructive attitude for the fastest calling of an international conference on Syria, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"We hope that following the Syrian government, the opposition will respond constructively to the Russian-U.S. initiative," Lavrov said when speaking at the 68th UN General Assembly meeting on Friday.
Russia will continue to work vigorously to call the international conference on Syria as quickly as possible, Lavrov said.
This conference is the only opportunity to end violence in Syria and to set in motion the political resolution of the crisis in Syria, Lavrov.
