MOSCOW. Oct 23 (Interfax) - The Russian government and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan signed an agreement on air transport in September 2013, the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency Rosaviatsia said on its website.
Airlines appointed by Russia will have the right to run scheduled flights from Russia to Kabul and other Afghan cities.
Airlines appointed by the Afghan authorities will have the right to run scheduled flights to Moscow and other Russian cities.
A previous agreement between the Soviet Union and the Royal Government of Afghanistan was in place from 1956 before the new agreement was signed.
