KRASNOGORSK. Oct 30 (Interfax) - A citizen of Tajikistan carrying a large amount of heroin has been detained in the Lyubertsky district of the Moscow region, the Federal Drug Control Service's Department for the Moscow region reported on Tuesday.
The man was carrying some 1.5 kilos of heroin at the moment of his detention, the report says.
The drug police later found more drugs in a rented apartment in Moscow, where the man lived with a woman and a 17-year-old boy (both citizens of Tajikistan).
"Another 6.5 kilos of heroin was found. The drugs were hidden in the kitchen stove and were packed in bags. They were intended for wholesale trade," the report says.
The man is now in police custody. A criminal case may be opened against him.
