MOSCOW. Oct 31 (Interfax) - Two Russian Tupolev Tu-160 supersonic strategic missile carrying bombers have carried out a flight from Venezuela's Maiquetia airport to the Managua airport in Nicaragua, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a press release.
"The flight proceeded over the neutral waters of the Caribbean Sea, after which the airplanes entered the airspace of the Republic of Nicaragua and landed there as planned," it said.
The 2,500-kilometer flight took around three hours, the ministry said.
"All flights conducted by Russian Air Force planes proceed in strict compliance with international rules for the use of airspace," it said.
