MOSCOW. Oct 31 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov will meet with head of the joint Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons-United Nations mission for the destruction of Syria's chemical weapons Sigrid Kaag in Moscow on Friday, the Russian Foreign Ministry told Interfax on Thursday.
"We confirm that special coordinator of the UN-OPCW mission Sigrid Kaag will arrive in Moscow on November 1. She will have a meeting with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov," it said.
The UN News Center reported earlier that Kaag was to discuss progress in the disposal of Syria's chemical weapons with Russian officials in Moscow. After visiting Moscow, Kaag is to travel to New York, where she is to inform the UN Security Council of the chemical weapons disposal process in Syria next week.
The OPCW announced earlier on Thursday that Syria had completed "the destruction of critical equipment for all of its declared chemical weapons production facilities and mixing/filling plants, rendering them inoperable."
