MOSCOW. Nov 1 (Interfax) - A decision concerning Russia's possible financial contribution to the efforts to destroy Syria's chemical weapons stockpiles may be adopted in the near future.
"We are currently considering the issue of our financial involvement in the process of disposing of Syrian [chemical] weapons. A decision on this matter is expected to be made in the near future," Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov told Interfax.
When asked whether Russia could provide some infrastructure along with financial aid, Gatilov said that "so far, nothing can be said for certain."
"Different departments are working on this issue," he added.
