TBILISI. Nov 8 (Interfax) - The Georgian parliament intends to call an emergency session, where Irakly Garibashvili will be approved as new prime minister, within a week following November 17, the date of the inauguration of Georgian President Elect Giorgi Margvelashvili, Irina Imerlishvili, chairman of the parliament's procedure committee, told reporters in Tbilisi on Friday.
"We intend to approve new Prime Minister Irakly Garibashvili and announce his confidence in the government before the EU Vilnius summit, where Georgia will be represented by the new president and the new prime minister," Imerlishvili said.
The Vilnius summit will be held on November 29. The Georgian administration plans to initial a document on its associated membership in the EU at that summit. The treaty may be signed in September 2014.
