Blast at Moscow epidemiology institute no health hazard -Health Ministry

MOSCOW. Nov 13 (Interfax) - The fire set off by an explosion at Moscow's Gamaleya Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology left two people hurt, the Russian Health Ministry said.

"The incident is not a hazard to sanitary and epidemiological wellbeing. Two gas service workers were hurt. They were taken to the Sklifosovsky emergency medical aid institute," the ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.

The fire broke out during checks on the gas equipment in a room "where only sterile nutrient solutions are made," the statement says.
