Russian Navy's general purpose forces to be armed with long-range precision weapons by 2050 - commander

ST. PETERSBURG. Nov 13 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Navy's general purpose forces will be armed with long-range precision weapons by 2050, Russian Navy Commander Adm. Viktor Chirkov said on Wednesday.

"Among the main priorities is establishing and augmenting a general-purpose naval group and investing it with the capability of strategic non-nuclear deterrence. To this end, it will be armed with long-range precision weapons," Chirkov said at a conference dealing with priorities in the Navy's development.
