MAKHACHKALA. Nov 14 (Interfax) - A police officer was wounded in Makhachkala in an exchange of gunfire with suspected members of an illegal armed formation. One of the attackers was killed, Interfax was told at the press service of the Dagestani Interior Ministry.
A press officer said the exchange of fire took place in a road crossing at about 7:05 p.m. on Wednesday. A police patrol tried to stop a Lada Priora car for examination.
"The people sitting in the car opened fire at the policemen. One of the police officers was wounded, one attacker killed and two others fled. A search for them was launched. The personnel of the city police department was alerted," the spokesman said.
