MOSCOW. Nov 14 (Interfax) - The wife of businessman Sergei Polonsky has still not been released by the Cambodian police and is accused of illegally entering the territory of the prison.
"I have just called Olga Deripasko and she said she is still in prison. The prison staff are trying to make her sign a protocol saying that she illegally entered the territory of the prison where Polonsky is kept," the businessman's lawyer Alexander Karabanov told Interfax on Thursday.
Karabanov added that he has advised to Deripasko not to sign any documents.
The lawyer also said a journalist who filmed Polonsky in prison has been arrested in Cambodia. "They tried to accuse Olga of illegally filming on the territory of the prison, but later they decided to resolve that matter with the journalist. He has been arrested," Karabanov said.
The lawyer said Pavel Seskanov, the head of the consular section of the Russian embassy in Phnom Penh, had gone to look into that situation.
The defense lawyers for Polonsky earlier said his wife Olga Deripasko had been detained in Cambodia.
The Russian embassy in Cambodia has reported it is now checking the information on the detention of Sergei Polonsky's wife near the prison where her husband is kept.
