SOCHI. Nov 28 (Interfax) - The Russian Air Force obtained 263 brand new aircraft in 2011-2011 and will obtain about 200 more in 2013, Russian Air Force Commander Viktor Bondarev told President Vladimir Putin at a conference dedicated to the development of the Air Force.
Average flying hours of Air Force pilots stood at 112 in 2013, the commander said.
He also informed the supreme commander about the construction and modernization of airfields in the Arctic and sub-Arctic zones. For instance, the Air Force is developing the Temp airfield, and a number of airfields will have their runways extended and quality improved.
