MOSCOW. Nov 29 (Interfax) - The Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) is checking Tatarstan airline's documentation concerning the initial pilot training and retraining to fly Boeing 737 aircraft. Recommendations have been elaborated for the additional training of Russian pilots.
"The Tatarstan airline's documentation on the initial pilot training, retraining to fly Boeing 737 aircraft and regular coaching and crew appraisals is being verified," says the IAC report obtained by Interfax on Friday.
Meanwhile, the IAC technical commission investigating the crash of Tatarstan airline's Boeing 737-500 in Kazan has elaborated recommendations for airlines and conveyed them to the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia).
Experts recommend additional coaching and practice flights by pilots. The IAC advises pilots to drill recovery maneuvers in the event of a problems with the plane, the procedures and features dictating the operation of airplane systems (autopilot and the flight director) during the landing approach and circling around for a second approach under various circumstances, and features of the airplane's navigation system.
The committee suggested considering the need to upgrade air traffic control protocol in order to render more active assistance to crews in the case of significant flight diversions.
The IAC proposed that Rosaviatsia hold a conference for exchanging Boeing 737 operation experience.
The crash of Tatarstan airline's Boeing 737 at the Kazan airport on November 17 killed 50 people, including 44 passengers, among them two children, and six crewmembers.
