MOSCOW. Dec 2 (Interfax) - The Federal Migration Service advises foreigners who plan to visit Russia to check on the Federal Migration Service whether they have any restrictions for entry in the Russian Federation.
"A total of 394,000 foreign citizens have now been denied entry to our country," Federal Migration Service press officer Zalina Kornilova told Interfax on Monday.
An information service that foreign citizens can use to check if they have any restrictions on entering Russia began working on the Federal Migration Service on Friday.
"A total of 12,000 foreign citizens used this resource in three days. Seventeen percent of them learned that their entry into Russia was restricted for several years," Kornilova said.
Foreigners are subjected to entry restrictions if they have committed two or more violations in Russia or of they have outstayed their time in Russia.
Such restrictions are also imposed on foreigners who have been subjected to deportation expulsion, or readmission, and foreigners who have used forged migration cards.
