MOSCOW. Dec 11 (Interfax) - A total of 37 citizens of Russia and the CIS countries mainly women and children, have left Syria with the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry's plane, the ministry's press officer Irina Rossius told Interfax.
Two Emergency Situations Ministry's planes, an Il-76 and an IL-62, arrived in Latakia on Tuesday, bringing 44 tonnes of humanitarian aid.
"On its way back, the IL-62 plane took Russians and citizens of the CIS countries who wished to leave Syria. It is carrying 37 people to Russia, including 24 citizens of Russia, one citizen of Ukraine, one citizen of Kazakhstan, and seven citizens of Syria," Rossius said, adding that the Syrian men are the husbands of the Russian women who have left Syria together with their children.
During the flight, the passengers will be accompanied by psychologists and an operative group of the Emergency Situations Ministry. The plane will land at the airport Domodedovo, where it will be met by an operative group of the Emergency Situations Ministry, federal Migration Service officials, and embassy officials.
