Azeri actions obstructing Karabakh peace process - Armenian ministry

YEREVAN. Dec 16 (Interfax) - Azeri violations of the ceasefire regime along the contact line with Armenian forces are obstructing the Karabakh peace process, Armenian Foreign Minister Eduard Nalbandian said.

"E. Nalbandian said at a meeting with the OSCE Minsk Group cochairmen in Yerevan that both servicemen and civilians were victims of Azeri violations of the ceasefire regime along the Armenian-Azeri border and the contact line between Azerbaijan and Karabakh and civilian facilities were put under fire," a source from the Armenian Foreign Ministry press service told Interfax.

"The Armenian foreign minister declared that such provocations were hindering the peace settlement efforts of the intermediaries and Armenia," he said.

The meeting focused on the promotion of the Karabakh peace process and the arrangement of a meeting of Armenian and Azeri foreign ministers in the beginning of 2014.

The Armenian Defense Ministry warned Azerbaijan earlier on Monday that it would retaliate against the murder of its serviceman.
