BRUSSELS. Dec 17 (Interfax) - Russia is ready to work together with the European Union concerning the Libyan issues exclusively as equal partners, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"Today the EU wants us to cooperate on Libya, but it presumes that we should join the operation launched by the EU in order to enhance control along Libya's external borders, refusing to agree to allow us to help coordinate this operation," Lavrov said at a press conference in Brussels on Monday.
"We remain convinced that only equal cooperation will be effective, but we are prepared to contributed to joint efforts without joining the European Union's operation," he said.
