BRUSSELS. Dec 17 (Interfax) - Foreign ministers of the European Union and Russia have reached a common stance that it is necessary to observe the sovereignty of any country, Ukraine included, and allow nations to choose how to develop states themselves.
"We have reached a common stance that everyone should observe the sovereignty of any country, including Ukraine, and everyone should allow nations to choose freely how they want to develop their state," Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said following the meeting with the European counterparts.
"We have arrived here not to discuss Ukraine but to discuss our political dialog, monitoring on all four road maps, approved by the presidents some time ago and on which we cooperate regularly. We have analyzed our cooperation and have found it satisfactory in general and we have discussed the preparations for the summit, which will be held in Brussels in a month," Lavrov said.
