MOSCOW. Dec 17 (Interfax) - The Iranian authorities still expect Russia to deliver S-300 surface-to-air missile systems under a previously signed contract.
"We hope that this contract will be put into practice, and that these systems will be delivered to Iran. This issue was discussed during Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov's visit to Tehran last week, and we saw that the Russian side has been amiably searching for a solution to this issue," Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Mehdi Sanaei said at a press conference on Tuesday.
"This is a defensive weapon. That is why its deliveries do not violate any international agreements," he said.
