Development of long-range high-accuracy weapons is a priority - Russian defense minister

MOSCOW. Dec 26 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Defense Ministry is committed to the need to develop long-range high-accuracy weapons and maintain the rapid pace of the Strategic Missile Forces' (RVSN) switch to new arms.

"We have been paying great attention to [development efforts] both financially and from the point of view of organization. We have made a decision to increase the number of long-range high-accuracy weapons," Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu told the Rossiya-1 television station on Thursday.

"Our RVSN and our entire system are in good working order and are being perfected further. I believe that in the near future we will achieve the 100% level in terms of new hardware in these units," he said.
