Unit of Pacific Fleet ships returns to Vladivostok after nine months cruise

VLADIVOSTOK. Dec 26 (Interfax) - A unit of Pacific Fleet ships returned to Vladivostok on Wednesday after fulfilling combat service tasks in the Mediterranean.

The Pacific Fleet ship unit composed of the large destroyer Admiral Panteleyev, the amphibious assault ships Admiral Nevelsky and Peresvet, the rescue vessel Foty Krylov and the tanker Pechenga left Vladivostok on March 19. Since then, the ships have passed the Pacific and Indian Oceans, visited the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Aden, the Mediterranean sea, the Sea of Marmara, the Black Sea, the Arabian Sea, and the Red Sea.

The Pacific Fleet sailors on this cruise have paid a record number of visits and visited Singapore, Bur Safaga (Egypt), Bender-Abbas (Iran), the port of Salala (Oman), Limassol (Cyprus), Colombo (Sri Lanka), and also conducted an interfleet transition to the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk.
