CSTO CRRF armaments program to cost 33 billion rubles

MOSCOW. Dec 26 (Interfax-AVN) - Some 33 billion rubles will be spent on the Collective Security Treaty Organization Collective Rapid Reaction Force ( CSTO CRRF) armaments program, CSTO Deputy General Secretary Valery Semerikov told reporters on Thursday.

"I will not say anything new here. When we considered the issue of equipping the CRRF with modern weapons and military equipment, we unanimously decided that this program can only be implemented by creating an interstate program. This program was drawn up and approved by the presidents of our countries," Semerikov said.

All documents on the sources of funding and plans to provide weapons and equipment are now ready to be signed by the presidents, he said.

"Relevant decisions will be made in the nearest future. We are beginning the implementation of this plan in 2014. Some 33 billion rubles has been allocated for the program," he said.
