KYIV, Dec 27 (Interfax) - The United States has expressed its disappointment with the December 15 Ukrainian parliamentary by-elections, which were not conducted according to international standards.
"There is credible evidence that the results were affected by widespread election misconduct," reads a statement posted on the website of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine.
The U.S. called on the government of Ukraine to thoroughly investigate all reported violations and to prosecute those responsible.
"The government of Ukraine should take additional steps to ensure that future elections, including the 2015 presidential election, are in keeping with Ukraine's democratic commitments," the statement reads.
