Meeting between foreign ministers of Russia, Syria, and Iran ends

MOSCOW. Jan 16 (Interfax) - The participants in the three-party meeting between the foreign ministers of Syria, Iran and Russia are leaving the Russian Foreign Ministry mansion in Moscow.

Syrian and Iranian embassy cars are leaving the territory of the mansion, an Interfax correspondent has reported.

The Iranian embassy earlier said that a three-party meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Mualem, and Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif would be held on Thursday.

Less than a week is left before the Geneva II international peace conference for Syria, but a decision on Iran's attendance of the conference has yet to be made.

A source told Interfax that Zarif and Mualem came to Moscow from Damascus on the same plane.

Zarif met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus on Wednesday.
