About ten protesters detained in Kyiv disturbances

KYIV. Jan 20 (Interfax) - About ten protesters have been detained in Kyiv for attacking the police, the Ukrainian Interior Ministry public relations department said.

"Two rioters from amongst the detainees have been identified by now. One of them, a 30-year-old resident of Kyiv, is a member of the Svoboda Movement. The young man has earlier administrative citations for petty hooliganism. The other is a 41-year-old man aka Cherep [Skull] who had done 13 years in prison for murder. Reportedly, the man is related to the Patriot of Ukraine organization," the report said.

A criminal case has been opened on the counts of mass disturbances over the events happening on Kyiv Hryshevsky Street. Attackers of the police are being detained and taken to police stations.
