MOSCOW. Jan 20 (Interfax-AVN) - An Earth observation satellite under construction at the Energia Corporation will be delivered to orbit in spring 2014.
"The satellite launch has been scheduled for April 2014," Energia President and General Designer Vitaly Lopota told Interfax-AVN.
Factory tests of the satellite with updated software will end within a month, and comprehensive trials of the ground control complex and the satellite assembly and testing will follow. Acceptance tests will be held at Baikonur before the satellite is prepared for launch, he said.
"It will also be necessary to finish the training and internship of specialists of the operator company," Lopota concluded.
