MOSCOW. Jan 20 (Interfax-AVN) - The Energia Corporation is drawing up design documentation for a communication satellite to be constructed for a foreign client, Energia President and General Designer Vitaly Lopota told Interfax-AVN.
"The launch of this satellite has been planned for late 2016," he said.
"The introductory meeting with the client's delegation has been successful and the initial arrangements needed to start the project, including the opening of letters of credit, have been made," he added.
"Designer documentation is being drawn up," Lopota said. "The issue, defense and submission of the conceptual design of the satellite and the ground control station are the nearest objectives of the corporation, which will be followed by the issue of designer documentation and the construction of components of the service platform and the payload module."
