MOSCOW. Jan 20 (Interfax-AVN) - Conscripts from the Samara region who have chosen alternative civil service (ACS) will work as nurses, porters and cleaners at a local gerontological center (a homecare for the elderly) and a clinical hospital.
"Out of the total of 69,000 citizens called up to military service by the army recruitment centers in the Central Military District (CMD), ninety-five, including six conscripts from the Samara region have chosen alternative service," the CMD said in a press statement obtained by Interfax-AVN on Monday.
The ACS is a particular type of work for social and state interests carried out by draft-eligible citizens instead of the military service under the law entitled "On the alternative civil service."
