Lavrov confirms Russian attendance of Geneva II (Part 2)

MOSCOW. Jan 21 (Interfax) - Russia will take part in the Geneva II international peace conference for Syria, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

"We will go to the Geneva conference and promote our stand in order to start a dialogue between the Syrian sides without preconditions," Lavrov told a Tuesday press conference in Moscow.

"I am confident it would meet our common interests to make the inter-Syrian dialogue what they call inclusive, because the National Coalition is only a part of the Syrian opposition. Apart from this coalition, there is also the opposition operating inside Syria," the Russian foreign minister said.
