Bomb of up to 7 kilos of TNT defused in Dagestan

MAKHACHKALA. Jan 21 (Interfax) - A homemade bomb was defused near the local administration's building in the village of Ashaga-Stal in the Suleyman-Stalsky district of Dagestan on Tuesday, a source from the Dagestani operative staff told Interfax.

A bucket containing explosives and a detonator was foundin the morning, he said.

"The area was cordoned off and people were evacuated. The bomb was unarmed by Federal Security Service specialists using a hydrodynamic device at approximately 3 p.m. The bomb was equivalent to five to seven kilograms of TNT," the source said.
