Police to maintain security of fuel and energy facilities - bill

MOSCOW. Jan 22 (Interfax) - The Russian State Duma, the lower house of parliament, passed a bill in its second and third readings on Tuesday that would make police responsible for the security of fuel and energy facilities.

The bill would amend the Law on the Police and the Code of Administrative Offences.

Police officials would be given powers to document the relevant offences.

The bill would become a law one year after its endorsement and official publication.
