Ukrainian prosecutor general urges opposition leaders to make supporters stop violence

KYIV. Jan 22 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Pshonka has called on the opposition leaders to persuade the protesters to stop the confrontation with the security forces in the center of Kyiv.

Pshonka discussed the matter with leaders of the opposition parliamentary groups Batkivshchyna Arseny Yatsenyuk and Svoboda Oleh Tyahnybok, the Prosecutor General's Office press service told Interfax.

"Viktor Pshonka called on the opposition members to persuade their supporters to stop the forcible confrontation and take measures to prevent mass violations of the law," it said.
