MOSCOW. Jan 22 (Interfax) - The leaders of major countries should not have wives, as women distract them from important government matters, Russian Liberal Democratic Party leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky says.
"The leaders of major and powerful states surely should be without wives. A wife is a nuisance. He rules the whole world, and here she is with her stupid petticoat stuff," Zhirinovsky told journalists on Wednesday.
For example, U.S. President Barack Obama's wife, Michelle, has "finished" him, Zhirinovsky said. "Look how Obama's appearance has changed. He's turned green, with lots of wrinkles. Michelle is to blame, Michelle has finished him off. Clinton was ruined by Monica [Lewinsky], but here is the wife," he said.
Zhirinovsky said he would send Obama a letter to urge him "to get rid of her as soon as possible."
