MONTREUX, Switzerland. Jan 23 (Interfax) - UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon told a news conference that Wednesday's international talks on Syria in Montreux had become the first small step toward a conflict settlement in the Arab country and that the next such step would be taken at planned talks between Syria's government and opposition negotiators on Friday.
