Most participants in Geneva II favor Iran's involvement - Lavrov

MONTREUX. Jan 23 (Interfax) - Most participants in Geneva II international conference favor Iran's involvement in it, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said.

"I talked to most participants in the conference and did not hear one of them say that the current format of outside players is ideal," he said to journalists after the first day of Geneva II.

"Everyone said, many said it publicly during the debate, that Iran plays a very important role and a way should be found to involve Iran in the process of supporting direct Syrian talks," he said.
