MSOCOW. Jan 23 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian and Zimbabwe military plan to develop cooperation, and, colleagues from Zimbabwe intend to use their visit to Moscow to invite Russian companies to develop Zimbabwe's economy.
These issues were discussed in the first meeting between Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and his Zimbabwe counterpart Sydney Sekeramayi, which took place in Moscow on Wednesday.
The relations between the two countries "have a long history and are friendly," Shoigu said.
"We believe it will create serious prospects and we will discuss all issues relating to further military-technical cooperation," he said.
Sekeramayi, for his part, thanked Shoigu for the meeting and expressed hopes for the development of mutual relations in the military-technical and socio-economic spheres.
"We want to use our presence in Moscow to discuss cooperation between Russia and Zimbabwe and also to invite Russian companies to invest in Zimbabwe to promote the development of the local economy," Sekeramayi said.
