MOSCOW. Jan 29 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Black Sea Fleet has reported a downward trend in incident statistics, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"The fleet cut the incident rate in half and witnessed a steady decline in the number of violations done by servicemen in 2013," fleet spokesman Capt. 1st Rank Vyacheslav Trukhachev told Interfax-AVN on Wednesday.
He said the information was presented at an expanded meeting of the fleet's Military Board dedicated to the enforcement of law and order in fleet units. The Board convened in Sevastopol under the chairmanship of Black Sea Fleet Commander Vice-Admiral Alexander Vitko.
Fleet Deputy Commander for Human Resources Capt. 1st Rank Yuri Orekhovsky said the fleet was one of the best in the Russian Armed Forces in terms of the provision of law, order and military discipline.
At the end of the meeting Vitko urged commanders "to inspire by personal example the strict compliance with manuals and to organize their work in such a way that military collectives develop a sound moral climate necessary for the successful accomplishment of fleet missions."
