Over 20 people arrested after Jan 26 clashes in Dnipropetrovsk (Part 2)

DNIPROPETROVSK. Jan 30 (Interfax-AVN) - Twenty-four people have been arrested following clashes between protesters and riot police outside the regional administration building in the Ukrainian city of Dnipropetrovsk on January 26, a spokesman for the regional Prosecutor's Office said.

Of them, 22 protesters are now being held at remand centers of Dnipropetrovsk, and "the remaining two have been placed under house arrest," the press service said.

Seven people injured in the Sunday unrest are still being treated at hospitals, the regional administration said. Of them, six are in moderately grave condition, and one is in satisfactory condition.

I. Mechnikov regional hospital head doctor Serhiy Ryzhenko told Interfax that his clinic is treating five people who sustained head injuries, including a police officer, who has already undergone surgery.

"All of the patients are in moderately grave condition. Their injuries are not life-threatening," Ryzhenko said.

Police detained 37 people after clashes outside the regional administration building in Dnipropetrovsk on January 26. Fifteen people were hospitalized.
