MOSCOW. Feb 3 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry discussed the situation in Syria and in the Geneva talks between the parties to the Syrian conflict at the Munich Security Conference on January 31.
"The Russian and U.S. foreign policy chiefs expressed their common view on the importance of continuing and intensifying the inter-Syrian negotiating process with the aim of putting an end to bloodshed and starting a political settlement of the crisis in Syria as soon as possible. Special significance was attached to the destruction of the Syrian chemical weapons," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
