TBILISI. Feb 3 (Interfax) - Georgia will provide the necessary legal assistance to the Georgian citizen who was detained in Kyiv on suspicion of setting fire to cars.
"Our consul in Ukraine has contacted the detainee, who regrets his actions and says he was misled," Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani told a briefing on Monday.
"The detainee's rights will be protected by the Georgian authorities during his imprisonment and trial," he said.
The Ukrainian media earlier reported that a Georgian man had been detained in Kyiv on suspicion of setting fire to cars for money.
