United Rocket and Space Corporation being created to get assets of 48 enterprises - Medvedev

GORKI. Feb 3 (Interfax) - Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has signed a resolution according to which the United Rocket and Space Corporation (ORKK) would receive assets of ten integrated structures - 48 various organizations.

"I have signed the governmental resolution, which concerns the management of the rocket and space sector. I refer to the relevant presidential order issued on the relevant topic. It should ensure the consolidation of the biggest developers and producers of the United Rocket and Space Corporation being created," Medvedev said at a meeting with deputy prime ministers.

According to the resolution, the corporation "receives the assets of ten various structures - these are 48 different organization, 14 individual companies," the prime minister said.

The corporation will be 100% state-owned, Medvedev said.

Such a consolidation of assets will allow the implementing of a single technical policy and, most importantly, this is a key to increasing quality, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said.

The consolidation of assets will take in general about two years, however Medvedev urged not to delay these procedures, Rogozin said.

"It is necessary to do so that this process is not delayed, because, all this red tape is needed itself of course, but, unfortunately sometimes much time is taken by it," Medvedev said.
