MOSCOW. Feb 4 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry has appointed former Air Force spokesman Alexander Drobyshevsky as its press secretary and head of its public information department.
Drobyshevsky's previous role was that of adviser to the emergency situations minister. The minister, Vladimir Puchkov, announced Drobyshevsky's new appointment during a conference call on Monday, the ministry told Interfax.
Drobyshevsky, who was born on January 31, 1960, is a retired colonel and a graduate of the Novosibirsk Higher Military Political Combined Arms College and the Humanities Academy of the Armed Forces.
He served in the Airborne Forces from 1978 to 1994, in the Air Force from 1994 to 2008, and at the Defense Ministry from 2008 to 2010.
From 2010 to 2013, he was chief spokesman for some commercial organizations.
He was chief spokesman for the Air Force at one time.
