MOSCOW. Feb 4 (Interfax-AVN) - Moscow will host an international engine-manufacturing forum on April 15, the president of Russia's Aircraft Engine Manufacturing Union (ASAD) said on Monday.
"As from 2014 this forum will replace the Engines international shows that have been held in Moscow once every two years. The forum will consist of two parts - a scientific and technological program and an exhibition of civilian and dual-purpose engines," Viktor Chuiko said.
This year's four-day forum will have a much larger scientific and technological component that Engines shows before, Chuiko said. "We assume that science alone is capable of improving the current situation in engine manufacturing," he said.
The forum's program would include 21 symposiums, Chuiko said.
He said no military aircraft engines would be shown at the 2014 forum. Warplane engines would be shown at a planned engineering technology exhibition in Zhukovsky, near Moscow, in mid-August.
Chuiko said the main purpose of this year's forum 2014 is to discuss how to implement the Russian aircraft industry development program, which has the deadline of 2015.
