KYIV. Feb 5 (Interfax) - Vitali Klitschko, the leader of the Ukrainian opposition party UDAR, discussed the amendment of the Ukrainian constitution at a Tuesday meeting with President Viktor Yanukovych
The two did not talk about the formation of a new government, Klitschko told journalists at the Verkhovna Rada on Tuesday.
"I have just returned from the presidential secretariat, where I brought up the issue of immediately resolving the problem of the constitution's amendment," Klitschko said.
The constitution's amendment would help alleviate tensions in society, he said.
Klitschko also described remarks by some policymakers on the possibility of Ukraine's federalization as threatening its integrity.
"He [Yanukovych] answered that everything should go ahead within a legal framework, and the constitution amendment process may take up to half a year," Klitschko said.
"We don't have this timeframe. I am sure the issue needs to be resolved very quickly," he said.
