MOSCOW. Feb 5 (Interfax) - Hadi Albahra will be the Syrian opposition delegation's chief negotiator in the next round of the inter-Syrian dialogue in Geneva starting on February 10, just as he did during the first round, Badr Jamous, the secretary general of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces, told Interfax on Tuesday.
"Hadi Albahra remains the lead negotiator. Head of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces Ahmad Jarba will also be in Geneva, will be supervising the negotiations and will be nearby all the time," Jamous said.
Asked whether the two delegations could have direct verbal contact in the second round, Jamous replied, "Directly or not, this is not what really matters. What does matter is that the regime should come and really want to negotiate. Either through UN Secretary-General's Envoy to Syria Lakhdar Brahimi or directly, what matters is that negotiations themselves should take place."
