Govt aircraft delivers 15 people fleeing Syria to Moscow

MOSCOW. Feb 4 (Interfax) - The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry's Ilyushin Il-76 aircraft has delivered to Moscow's Domodedovo Airport 15 Russians, CIS citizens and Syrians who wished to leave the Arab Republic, the ministry told Interfax.

"On board the plane, which has successfully landed at Domodedovo Airport, are eleven Russians, two Moldovans and two Syrians. The people who wished to leave Syria include several children. During the flight they were accompanied by an operative team from the Russian Emergencies Situations Ministry and psychologists from the Center for Emergency Psychological Aid," the ministry said.

Meanwhile, the passengers from Syria are being welcomed at Domodedovo by Russian emergency officials, psychologists, federal migration officers and the embassies' representatives.

"Upon arrival to Moscow several people are going to fly on to the regions they have chosen as their next place of residence," the ministry said.

Yet another Il-76 aircraft of the Emergencies Situations Ministry has returned from Syria and landed at Ramenskoye airfield in the Moscow region.

It was reported that the ministry's two Il-76 aircraft delivered 52 tonnes of humanitarian aid to the Syrian city of Latakia. On the way back one aircraft took on board several Russians, CIS citizens and Syrians who wished to leave the dangerous region.
