Russian army will be staffed primarily with contract servicemen by 2020 - Shoigu

KRASNOYARSK. Feb 12 (Interfax-AVN) - Two-thirds of the Russian Armed Forces will be contract servicemen by 2020 and one one-third will be conscripts, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.

"By 2020, two-thirds of our army will be staffed with professionals. We will leave one-third to conscripts to train a mobilization reserve," Shoigu said during a meeting with the students of the Federal Siberian University in Krasnoyarsk on Wednesday.
