Russia and Egypt agree to quicken pace of work on military-technical cooperation documents - Lavrov

MOSCOW. Feb 13 (Interfax) - Moscow and Cairo will speed up the drafting of documents intended to further promote their military-technical cooperation, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a press conference in Moscow.

"We have agreed to move more rapidly to prepare the documents that will give an additional impetus to the development of our military and military-technical cooperation. These issues were addressed during the negotiations between Egypt's First Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister, Mr. el-Sisi, and Defense Minister of Russia Sergei Shoigu," Lavrov said.

"We also agreed upon ways to further build our bilateral relations, including the need to call [a session] of the Russian-Egyptian joint intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation in the near future. This session will be held at the end of March," the minister said.
