EU, CoE play constructive role in stabilizing Ukraine - Yanukovych

KYIV. Feb 14 (Interfax) - Getting the European Union (EU) and the Council of Europe (CoE) involved in stabilizing Ukraine's domestic situation will be a constructive move, President Viktor Yanukovych said at a meeting with EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy Stefan Fule, the president's press office said.

"The meeting continued the discussion of the democratic and peaceful resolution of the political crisis in Ukraine, and prospects for the constitutional reform and for a financial economic aid to be provided to Ukraine by the EU and international financial institutions," the press office said.

Yanukovych also stressed the importance of renewing the atmosphere of trust between the authorities, the opposition and civil society, as well as strict adherence to the effective legislation.
