MOSCOW. Feb 14 (Interfax-AVN) - Twenty-four ships and support vessels of the Russian Navy are on duty in key areas of the World Ocean at present, Russian Armed Forces General Staff Chief General of the Army Valery Gerasimov said at a meeting of the Russian Defense Ministry Board on Friday.

"Twenty-four ships and support vessels are accomplishing combat training missions in distant maritime zones. The total sailing time of the ships exceeded 1,000 hours in the previous month," he said.

Surprise inspections continue, Gerasimov said.
